An early lookNothing on this page has been vibe-checked yet, and every place is blank on purpose.

From Love Sunday · Whitefish, Montana

Places that feel divine.

NeuroDivine would vibe-check hotels, restaurants, shops and everything in between by how they feel: the light, the noise, the crowd, the smell, and whether anyone will let you be yourself. So you know before you walk in.

A good eye. Room to be yourself.

The halo · a demonstration

Instead of stars, a halo.

Seven rays around the sun, one for each thing a room does to you. Move the sliders and watch it change. This example describes no real place.

Example halo Love Sunday's sun with seven rays drawn from the sliders. It describes no real place.
Example only · no real place

This example reads as

Moderate. Nothing is turned all the way up.

Soft light. Steady chatter. Busy. A faint scent. Clear before you go. Outside is the only break. Staff are easy about you.

Selkie, under this demo’s rule: not earned. Refuge needs three of five.

In this demo the Selkie needs three or more on Clarity, Refuge and Welcome. When that’s met, the ring around the sun closes.

A loud room can be a kind one. A quiet room can still shut you out. That’s why the halo has two sides.

What you’ll noticeNeither end is better. It depends who’s walking in.
What the place does for youMore is better, whoever you are.

What NeuroDivine would make

Four rings around one sun.

The vibe check sits in the middle. Everything else grows out from it, one ring at a time.

01 · The vibe check and the Selkie

A profile, not a verdict.

One vibe check for any kind of place. The room that’s too much for one person is exactly right for another, so the vibe check says what’s there and lets you decide.

“certified neuro friendly so it can apply to any industry”

Hk

Fluorescent tubes are a choice. So is a menu you can’t read until you’re already sitting down. The vibe check writes those choices down, so you can decide before you go.

ProposedSeven rays, with a five-step scale for each. These are working words.

What you’ll notice

The plum rays. Some people go looking for bright and loud. Some leave the second the music starts. Both are right, so these rays just say what’s there.

  • Light

How bright, how harsh, and whether anything flickers.

    Dim, soft, even, bright, harsh

  • Sound

How loud, and whether there’s music you can’t get away from.

    Hushed, low, chatter, loud, roaring

  • Crowd

How many people, how close, and how fast that changes.

Empty, a few, busy, packed, crush

  • Scent

Candles, cleaning products, a kitchen, somebody’s perfume.

    None, faint, noticeable, strong, everywhere

What the place does for you

The red rays. Here a longer ray is simply better, whoever you are.

  • Clarity

Can you know what to expect before you arrive? A menu online, booking without a phone call, a process that’s written down.

Guesswork, a few clues, mostly clear, clear, no surprises

  • Refuge

A quiet place to step away to, and an easy way out.

Nowhere, outside only, a corner, a quiet room, room and exit

  • Welcome

Staff who let you be yourself. Headphones, stimming, leaving early, taking a minute to decide.

On guard, tolerated, polite, easy, be yourself

Draft Selkie, not awarded to anyone: Certified neuro-friendly, NeuroDivine Selkie. CERTIFIED NEURO-FRIENDLY NEURODIVINE Selkie DRAFT NOT AWARDED

The Selkie

In the old stories, a selkie is a seal who comes ashore for a while. A Selkie place is somewhere you can come ashore too, and simply be yourself.

The Selkie would go to places that meet a baseline. The profile underneath still says what each place is actually like.

ProposedA first draft of the baseline:

  • You can find out what to expect before you arrive.
  • There’s somewhere quieter to step away to, and an easy way out.
  • Staff know that headphones, stimming and leaving early are fine.

It looks only at the red rays, so a loud place can still earn it.

This is a draft Selkie and it has not been given to anyone.

02 · The guide

Hk’s picks, city by city.

The places she’d send you, each with its halo, strung into days with room to breathe.

“is it neurodivergent friendly? And then here’s an itinerary based off of that.”

Hk

It starts at home, in Whitefish, Montana, a mountain town on a lake. Then the next city, and the one after that.

03 · The pass

One membership, many doors.

This is a concept only. Picture one pass that opens neuro-friendly places, plus the hours when they’re at their quietest: the gym before the music goes on, the shop with the lights turned down, the pool before the swim team shows up.

Ideas for what it could hold

  • Quiet hours at places with the Selkie
  • Booking without a phone call
  • A quiet room held for you
  • The halo for every place, before you go

There is no price, no member, no place signed up and no launch date. There is nothing to sign up for.

04 · The voice and the shop

Her taste, all the way through.

Hk’s taste is the brand. In the finished site the picks will be hers, the words hers, and the photographs hers.

Whose taste is this?

Hk, in her studio

Hk’s. She’s a photographer in Whitefish, Montana, and she runs Love Sunday.

Her story goes here. As much of it as she wants to tell, and not a word more.

How NeuroDivine talks

ProposedA first guess at the voice.

  • Plain words. Say what’s there: the light, the noise, the way out.
  • Funny when it’s true. Never cute about hard things.

Later

Comfort, not cures.

One day NeuroDivine could make its own things. Nothing sold here would promise to treat or fix anyone. It just has to be good to have.

There are no products yet. These frames hold her photographs for the mood.
